Apple unveiled new hardware at its Scary Fast event today. Apple M3 processor, the newest member of the Silicon family, was among the products introduced. Drawing attention with its focus on power and efficiency, M3 will power the new MacBooks.
What does the 3nm Apple M3 processor promise?
Apple has expanded its M series processor family with the M3. M3, the base processor of the series, which will consist of three models, adopts 3nm architecture. This technology represents the biggest breakthrough in graphics architecture for Apple Silicon. It incorporates a new architecture called Dynamic Caching.
According to Apple, the next-generation GPU dynamically determines the memory hardware in real time. This means that the amount of memory needed for each task will be used. While it has a 10-core GPU, the new GPU is 65 percent faster than the M1.
The new M3 processor has 8 cores, four for performance and four for efficiency. Apple emphasizes that it is 35 percent faster than the M1 and 20 percent faster than the M2. The M3 has 25 billion transistors and supports up to 24 GB of RAM.
The base model of the series will power the new 14-inch MacBook Pro and 24-inch iMac. It should be noted that other MacBook models will be powered by the M3 Pro and M3 Pro Max.
